Tulpehocken
Historic District
Experience an elegant
Victorian neighborhood on this walk from Germantown Avenue down
Tulpehocken Street to Wayne Avenue and back along Walnut Lane.
Built between 1840 and 1915, this neighborhood is distinguished
by beautiful churches, large mansions (including Wyck and
Ebenezer Maxwell Mansion, both open the public) and distinctive
smaller twins. Diverse architectural details invite close
attention, including Victorian gingerbread porches and trim, wrought
iron fences, brick paths shaded by old trees and lovely gardens.
