Founded in 1929, The Stagecrafters theater is a non-profit, volunteer-based organization dedicated to making live theatrical productions of the highest quality available to residents of Philadelphia and the surrounding communities.

Through the years our theater has attracted aspiring professionals and dedicated non-professionals alike from all around Greater Philadelphia; and our commitment to excellence in theater arts has drawn to our doors large audiences and consistently brought high critical and popular acclaim.

Our season runs from September to June, during which time we produce six plays; our productions represent a wide range: comedies, farces, dramas, thrillers, contemporary fare, recent hits, classics. Our 184-seat theater, listed in the National Register of Historic Buildings, is conveniently located in the heart of Chestnut Hill.
