Established in 1967, the Chestnut Hill Historical Society is a key preservation organization for this unique, village-like historic community. CHHS houses a rapidly expanding archive of documents at its Victorian headquarters; maintains exhibits of local interest; sponsors lectures; offers architecture guides for bus tours; produces books and other publications; manages a jointly sponsored, award-winning land and facade conservation easement program; and intervenes directly to save key historic structures.
