Cliveden

Site of the 1777 Revolutionary War Battle of Germantown, Cliveden is an outstanding historic house museum with original furnishings and decorative arts, six acres of landscaped grounds and extensive historical documentation, including an array of materials relating to seven generations of Philadelphia's Chew family. Cliveden was home to descendants of original owner Benjamin Chew until 1972, and its interiors feature exceptional examples of colonial Philadelphia craftsmanship. Special programs and field trips for children and adults are available by reservation.
